Fantastic $30 Map-Making Humble Bundle Represents a Virtual Tabletop GM's Dream

After a brief run earlier this year, the Map Making Mega Bundle has returned with an encore available until Dec. 2. Described as a "treasure trove of assets and apps" developed by a specialized software company over the years, the entire collection is valued at over $1,300. Additionally, there exist multiple package options available here.

Primary Feature

The standout feature is definitely a lifetime license to the CC3+ software, a professional-grade mapping application which enables users to generate various types including epic fantasy landscapes, smaller regional maps, urban layouts, and, perhaps most importantly, dungeon and tabletop battle maps.

Package Levels

Basic Package

The cheapest bundle tier, starting at just one dollar, includes only four from the thirty-nine available products: Fantasy Overland Symbol Collection, Token Treasury: Monsters 1, Source Maps: Castles!, and Source Maps: Cities!. This one's only for cartographers who already have CC3+, but it does offer fresh fantasy design elements for landscape mapping, over seven hundred fifty creature tokens compatible with online gaming platforms, over twenty-five aerial castle designs with 470 associated map tokens, eight fully mapped cities, plus seventy-plus building interiors.

Mid-Range Option

The eight-product collection for at least $15 is where things get more interesting by adding in permanent CC3+ access, the first Annual volume, Ultimate Mapping Guidebook, Isometric Cities Symbol Pack. Cartographer's Annual is the yearly bundle from the company's ongoing subscription program which includes multiple CC3+ enhancements like map collections and additional utilities. Isometric Cities lets you display cities with an extra dimension with isometric views from all sides. And the Tome of Ultimate Mapping is a 760-page for beginners and "power users" alike, full of tips and tutorials covering cartography techniques.

All 17 volumes from the Annual series are included here, plus numerous additional tools and content enabling creators to craft complete solar systems, or just go all-in on traditional fantasy world-building: battle maps, underground complexes, urban centers, and continents in multiple viewpoints. You can even design character illustrations. For $30 as opposed to $15, the complete collection offers tremendous value, especially for cartographers who have only the annual CC3+ license seeking permanent licensing. However, it's clearly an even better deal for map-making newbies since it includes introductory guides to facilitate learning. The one caveat here is that while the purchase is available across platforms, the software is only usable on Windows.

Charitable Component

As with other Humble Bundles, a portion of each sale goes to benefit a nonprofit. For this one, the beneficiary is Save the Children, an organization founded by Eglantyne Jebb in 1919 dedicated to enhancing children's welfare globally through education, health care, and emergency relief.
